"I did it!"

>> Sunday, February 13, 2011

My smart, independent little boy loves to cheer "I did it!" when he climbs up onto the couch by himself, or shoves a block into the correct hole in the shape sorter, or carries his little bowl of Cheerios down the hall to his bedroom. I reply with a "yay!" or a "good job!" and he parrots it back to me, and we both feel proud.

He also says "I find it!" and "I got it!" If he wants me to chase him, he says "I got you!" and starts running. His run is adorable: feet pitter-pattering, arms flailing, hair bouncing, often vocalizing ("ohohohoh") at the same time. Adorable. I catch him with tickles and he collapses in a fit of laughter. So much fun!

I am constantly amazed by everything he knows, everything he can say and do. Look how big he is! (Note the Star Wars shirt and 3D glasses — he is so going to be a geek like Daddy!)
